PORTLAND, Ore. (May 3, 2017) – As the focus shifts from sports to music and entertainment, the Rose Quarter is ready to excite guests of all ages with a wide variety of shows.
First to the Moda Center stage on Friday, May 5 is Chris Tomlin – Worship Night in America. GRAMMY® winner Chris Tomlin continues to bring the church together in unity and prayer with his Worship Night in America tour featuring Big Daddy Weave, Phil Wickham, Zach Williams, Mosaic MSC and Jason Barton. “It is powerful when all streams of the church come together in an act of unity to worship and pray… that’s the heart behind Worship Night In America,” Tomlin said. “I pray these nights are filled with revival and restoration as we all join together proclaiming one name.”
Bringing the energy to the Moda Center on Wednesday, May 10 is Chris Brown’s Party Tour. Celebrating some of the biggest names in music today, Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling singer-songwriter Chris Brown along with special guests Fabolous, O.T. Genasis, & Kap G bring the Party to cities across North America this summer with The Party Tour. Chris kicks off the party as his friends join him throughout the night – the party begins when the show begins! Fans are urged to get there on time each night to be part of this historical movement!
Finishing the month at the Moda Center are country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Soul2Soul World Tour 2017. McGraw and Hill have been dominating the music charts since the early ‘90s. They began touring together in 1996 on McGraw’s Spontaneous Combustion tour. In 2000 they created the Soul2Soul franchise with their record-breaking “Soul2Soul” tour, becoming that year’s top grossing and most successful U.S. tour. Their success continued in 2006-2007 when “Soul2Soul II” returned to the road, which was the most attended tour of the year in any musical genre and remains the highest grossing multi-year North American tour in country music history.

Looking for more music in the Pacific Northwest? In its first year, Upstream Music Fest + Summit, founded by Paul G. Allen, will transform the historic Pioneer Square neighborhood in Seattle into a walkable mixtape from May 11-13—including a main stage at CenturyLink Field’s North Lot, a free public stage in Occidental Park presented by KEXP, and over 25 intimate stages throughout the neighborhood. Your passes will give you access to all of these stages showcasing a diverse group of over 300 emerging artists from around the region. Our first round of main stage artists— say Flying Lotus, AlunaGeorge and Shabazz Palaces —exemplify the Upstream mission with their local and global appeal, their shared passion for delivering creative live performances and their support of emerging artists.
In addition to great music, Upstream will host a summit with some of the biggest names out of the Pacific Northwest. Join emerging artists, industry experts and creative collaborators from the Northwest and beyond at the Upstream Summit as they dive into how to succeed in the changing music economy. Attendees will learn from the experiences of keynote speakers Macklemore, Quincy Jones, Portia Sabin, and Ron Jones on how to make it as the music industry shifts from traditional to more dynamic business models. Over the two-day Upstream Summit, artists and creative collaborators from industries like tech, gaming and design will also have the opportunity to connect and dig into the most pressing opportunities and challenges currently facing the music industry through breakout sessions and meet-ups.
